Big Baptists in Little India

Travelling often gives us glimpses of things we could never imagine...and some things that you never want to imagine and cannot believe happen. I thought we were trying to have a society, but I have seen lace up ballet-style booties and roman sandles TO THE KNEES! in airports recently. I have actually wasted time in an airport between flights by counting how many pairs of underwear I have seen hanging out of people's pants. I also witnessed 17 southern baptist gospel teenage singers marching to their large voiced and largely Momma-like baptist director in the lobby of our hotel during a tornado because they could not get out to practice and decided to use the lobby. Meanwhile, behind the counter? Mr Patel who decided to march and sing along.
There was not enough coffee to waken me to the fact this was real and there was not enough water to quench my coughing attack after laughing so hard. It was so fun and we all are not likely to start our week like that again. Hope you have a day that makes you laugh so hard you cannot breathe and giggle when you recall it. Cheers!

Irony's Slave Girl

Well, I am Irony's Slave Girl. (I am sure there is an Iron Maiden joke here). Here is the irony...
I am a Project Manger/Planner and for the life of me have not been able to see the Holy Ones plans for our lives. I had many other jobs for my husband planned out and scheduled, and was confused when things did not occur as I thought. Now, David has the perfect job for his skills and servant heart--he is the new Facilities & Operations Manager/Minister at our church. WOW!! Didn't see that one coming and yet--- how perfect!
However, I do not believe devine intervention is the reason the engineers on my current project are not following "the Plan". Hmmmm. Pretty sure that excuse is lame!.

GOD is fabo!

God knows just what to do. I am fearfully and wonderfully humbled and humilated at how often I still doubt Him eventhough he has faithfully sustained me. I am a faith nerd. All details and focused on all the little rules, that the simple "just love him as one of His creations" escapes me way too often.
Hubby got a job this week and it was more wonderful than we could have dreamed up. In retrospect the jobs he had entertained recently would not have given flight to his servant heart. He is thrilled and it is great. He even has some flexible hours so he can support our son's schedule while I travel.
Been travelling every week for a year now and God sees me safely home each week.
Good to know He is still there. Wish I could remember that.
Next post won't be so serious... my heart is lighter now that my human side is releived of some of that pesky worrying (which did not do me any good and just thumbed my nose at He who is failthful). Wow, thank the Lord for Grace. Again.
